Who are we?

Orderly was founded by Rae & Vanessa in October 2021.

After leaving her job, Rae found joy in tidying and organising her home and subsequently took up the Clutterbug course to learn more about organising. She then started SortedbyRae on her own and announced this on her personal IG.

Vanessa loves The Home Edit and had always wanted to start an organising business. When she chanced upon Rae’s IG (they are friends from secondary school), she quickly hopped on the opportunity to join Rae and they rebranded to Orderly.

Vision

Orderly aims to transform the way you live your life.

Mission

Our mission is to help our clients bring order to chaos through decluttering and organising principles.

Values

Respect

We treat our clients and their space with professionalism.

Quality

We bring value to our clients through high service standards that are epitomised by attention to detail and care.

Customer centricity

We always put our clients' needs first.

Basics of Organising

  1. Start with categorising by type or function.

  2. Organise by colour if necessary (e.g. clothes, books).

  3. “File” things upright as much as possible, rather than stacking them up vertically, for easy retrieval.

  4. On shelves, place shortest items in front and tallest behind.

  5. Be consistent when arranging by length or height. (Shortest to tallest/longest from left to right)

  6. For book spines or packaging with words on the size, all words must face the same direction.

  7. If reusing client’s products, keep them as consistent-looking as possible and arrange them in a manner that’s aesthetically pleasing (e.g. symmetrical).

Wardrobe - Folding Basics

  • Clothes: Always file fold. Rolling is an alternative for clients who hates folding.

  • Sheets: Place the entire set inside 1 pillowcase for ease of retrieval

  • Towels: File fold or roll.

Wardrobe - Aesthetics

ROYGBIV

For clothes, books and bags, or anything with varied colours, arrange them in the order of a rainbow.

After arranging, take a step back and see if it looks visually appealing. Otherwise, we can move some colours.

e.g. White Beige Brown Grey Black Pink Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet

If there are multiple colours, go with your gut feel and adjust as needed.

Others

You can also add label for things that are hidden behind / inside another item

How to Discard Appropriately

  • If the items include photos of faces, personal details (name, address, NRIC, credit card number, etc.), make sure to tear, shred or cut them up so that they are no longer identifiable.

  • Ask client to call their local town council to help with discarding bulky furniture.

If they are keen to get rid of the trash ASAP, here are some chargeable disposal services:
